ABS Sensor Service Video
An ABS light on the dashboard should not be ignored. Your regular brakes may still work, but the anti-lock brake system may not help the same way during a hard stop.
An ABS sensor, also called a wheel speed sensor, tracks how fast each wheel is turning. If the system detects that one wheel is starting to lock up, it can adjust brake pressure to help the tire maintain grip. A failed ABS sensor can limit or turn off anti-lock braking, which may let a wheel lock up during hard braking or on slick roads.
Springfield drivers deal with wet spring roads, winter slush, and freeze-thaw damage. Rough pavement and potholes around Urbana Road, I-70, and US-40 can also stress wheel sensors, wiring, and tone rings.
At Zima Automotive, we do not replace ABS parts based on the warning light alone. We scan the brake system, check sensor data, inspect wiring, and look for related tone ring issues before we explain the repair.
Drivers from Urbana and Mechanicsburg may visit our Springfield shop when the ABS light stays on or returns after being cleared. This matters for daily drivers, work vehicles, family SUVs, and European vehicles around Clark County.
If your ABS light is on, call Zima Automotive at (937) 342-3911. You can schedule a brake inspection so the team can check the full system. You can also choose a trusted mechanic in Springfield, OH for clear answers before the next hard stop.
