A bad ignition coil can make your engine shake or run rough. You may feel weak power when you press the gas. The check engine light may also turn on.
A bad ignition coil can cause misfires, rough idle, weak power, poor fuel use, or a check engine light.
The ignition coil helps make the spark your engine needs. It sends high voltage to the spark plug. If the coil is weak, that cylinder may not fire properly.
Springfield cold starts can be hard on ignition parts. Local driving around I-70, US-40, and Route 68 can make misfires easier to notice at startup, during stops, and on short trips.
At Zima Automotive, we do not replace coils from a code alone. We scan for misfire codes, check coil data, inspect spark plugs, and look for wiring issues. This helps determine whether the coil is bad or another part is causing the misfire.
Drivers from Urbana and Mechanicsburg may visit our Springfield shop when the engine shakes, feels weak, or the check engine light flashes. If your car shakes, misfires, or smells like burnt fuel, call Zima Automotive at (937) 342-3911. If you are experiencing misfires or ignition issues, ask us about our engine diagnostics and repair service.
Zima Automotive gives drivers access to a local mechanic in Clark County who can diagnose engine issues before they turn into bigger repairs.
